As Wales’ independent commissioners for Children and for Future Generations we have distinct roles but common interests. We want to enable public bodies to put children’s rights to be safe, healthy and to flourish here and now at the centre of their planning and delivery. We also want to ensure that they plan for the long-term – for the rest of the lives of children living in their communities now, and for future generations still unborn.

Financial Planning

  • How do you intend to target resources allocated to your well-being objectives/project in a way that prioritises early intervention and prevention?
  • What are the costs of maintaining the status quo and not prioritising prevention and early intervention strategies?
  • How do your well-being objectives/project intend to support join-up between universal, targeted and specialist services to prevent problems getting worse or from occurring?
  • How could your work minimise its own negative impacts e.g. by applying the five ways of working to planning, resourcing and implementing your activities, minimising waste and resource use?
